The Long Walk Home

Since it got up to 61 degrees today, Megan and I decided to walk to school today to pick up Amelia.  Megan had a lot of energy on the walk there; it only took us 23 minutes to walk the mile, which I think is pretty good for a three year old.  She ran out of energy about a third of the way back home though and didn't want to walk the rest of the way.  Amelia was so good trying to encourage Megan to keep walking.  At first, she tried to carry Megan, but that didn't last very long, since Megan weighs 35lbs and Amelia weighs 45lbs.

Then she tried to get Megan interested in walking on the curb.

Then she invented a game called "Hug Walking", where Amelia held her arms out while walking backwards, and Megan had to run to catch up to her to get a hug.  It was so sweet!

It took us 50 minutes to walk the mile back to our house.  Nathaniel slept most of the way home, and I forgot to get a photo of him in the stroller.  Next time I'll have to bring the sit n stand stroller so that Megan can ride part of the way.  It's supposed to be in the 60s again later this week, so we might try.
