Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday yesterday, we turned an ordinary Saturday at home into a fun-filled celebration!

We spent most of the morning crafting our own version of The Foot Book.  Amelia came up with lots of rhyming words, I turned them into sentences, and the girls both helped create all the feet in the book.  They LOVED painting Daddy's feet:

And then washing them off afterwards:

Here's our finished book:

Then we made a special Dr. Seuss snack mix for snack time, consisting of:
Pink Ink (from One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish)
Three Cheese Trees (actually cheese puffs and pretzel sticks, from Fox in Socks)
One Fish, Two Fish, Rainbow Goldfish
Hop on Popcorn (ha ha ha)
Doughnuts (actually chocolate cheerios, from Dr. Seuss' ABCs)
Green Eggs (actually green jelly beans)

And for dinner, we had Cat in the Hat pancakes and green eggs (made with spinach) and ham, which nobody wanted to try!

We read just about all of our Dr. Seuss books yesterday, because, as Amelia says "Dr. Seuss books make me laugh!"

And because this post doesn't have many photos of Megan, here's a few of her posing at dinnertime:
